Grandmothers and Children's Book Festival
A toast to all grandmothers will be raised at the Fallesmann in the Loppe library next Monday at 6 pm. The event is also the release party for the latest book by Loppe's old summer resident Ulla Welin.
Multiple grandmother Ulla Welin has written 17 works of poetry and two historical novels, but "The Three and the Secret of the Fortress" is a summer adventure book for children aged 9-13.
The adventure in the story takes place in Grandma's kingdom. The cousins' vacation at Grandma's brings a lot of familiar and good things, but also a lot of surprises. Grandma knows exciting things about the area's past and is the real enabler of the summer adventure.
In the program, Ulla Welin reads and talks about the book, Tarja Manninen sings and Kirsi Jaakkola accompanies on the accordion. Together we look at the world from a grandmother's perspective and give recognition to the many years that lie ahead after turning 50. The event is also an opportunity for the participants to share their own memories. What were your childhood summer holidays like? There will certainly be many interesting and touching stories.
